Seared Ahi Tuna
This Seared Ahi Tuna recipe is perfect for a low carb or keto diet. The tuna steaks are marinated in a flavorful blend of soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic, then quickly seared to perfection. Serve it with a side of cauliflower rice or a fresh salad for a delicious and satisfying meal.
Ingredients:
- 2 ahi tuna steaks 6-8 ounces each
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- Green onions, thinly sliced, for garnish
Instructions:
Wet the ahi tuna steaks with paper towels and pat them dry
Mix together soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish
Put the tuna steaks in the fridge for 15 to 30 minutes while the mixture marinates them
In a pan, heat the olive oil over high heat
When it's hot, sear the tuna steaks for one to two minutes on each side for rare, or longer if you like
Take the tuna out of the pan and set it aside for a few minutes
Before you serve the tuna, cut it into thin slices and top it with green onions and sesame seeds
