Mini Rose Apple Pies with Rose Jam Glaze
Ingredients:
- 1 package of pre-made pie crust
- 3-4 medium-sized apples, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup rose jam
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
Instructions:
Before you start cooking, heat the oven to 375F 190C
Take out the pre-made pie crust and use a cookie cutter or the edge of a glass to make small circles out of it
Each little pie needs two circles
Thinly slice the apples and put them in a bowl
Add the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice
Toss the apples around until they are covered evenly
In the middle of one circle of pie crust, put a spoonful of the apple mixture
Put another circle of crust on top of it and press the edges together to seal
Do it again with the rest of the apple mixture and crust circles
Use the egg wash to cover the tops of the mini pies
It should be baked in a hot oven for twenty to twenty-five minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling
Make the rose jam glaze while the pies are in the oven
Over low heat, mix the rose jam and water in a small saucepan until it turns into a smooth glaze
Take the mini pies out of the oven and let them cool down a bit after they're done baking
Put the rose jam glaze on top of the warm mini pies
You can serve the mini rose apple pies warm with vanilla ice cream if you want to
